October  News and Updates

We are in full swing of haul-out mode. The staff have the peddle to the metal to haul and winterize all the boats. The nice weather is behind us now with single digits temps in the evenings.

By now you should have submitted your haul -out form. If not please attend to it as soon as possible. If you have submitted your form and are able to haul sooner we would appreciate it. Just advise the office.

More tidbits below...read on!

Haul-Out

Forms are available in the office or on our website (be sure to receive a confirmation)

"Ready date" is when you are finished with the boat. "Required date" is the date you wish to have the boat out by. We require min. 5 working days between these dates.

There are no owner present haul outs available.

All boats must be out by Nov 1st.

The owner assist mast schedule is 4 slots on Monday's (2 in the AM and 2 in the PM), 2 slots on Tuesday's (PM) and 2 slots on Thursday' (PM). Details and the schedule are available in the store.

Every single boat in the Marina has different starting methods.

Make sure you notify us of any special starting instructions i.e. open engine thru hull. WML will not be responsible for any damages due to lack of special instructions.

Interesting Fact

A day in the life of moving boats.

Boat number one

No keys. Keys tagged but on wrong board.

Boat number two.

Power to key switch but engine just clicking. Flip switches, push buttons still just clicking. Oh wait there is a button the other side of the pedestal ...starts. Now how to stop it? Push the button you originally tried that just clicks.. engine stops.

Boat number three.

Key in switch push button engine starts. Turn engine off? Examine pedestal..nope. Open all the cockpit hatches ...no shut down lever. Open companion way ...ah shut down lever behind the stairs leading down.

And we soldier on!

2024 Slip Contracts

Industry alive and well in Europe.

Ann and I took a trip to Italy to view the Genoa boat show earlier this month. The show is one of the largest ones we have attended. Dinghy's from 6' to yachts of 90+ feet. Over 1000 boats on display covering 200,000 sq. meters. One whole building dedicated to inflatables! The show was absolutely mobbed. The European boat market is thriving with the luxury yacht market expected to double in size by 2030. An amazing growth trend. Although the growth is mostly in the larger yachts the smaller < 40' yachts were well represented.

This year's Toronto boat show is January 19th to 28th. Save the date.

As a valued customer we appreciate your business and continued support of the Marina and Yacht Club

Enjoy your boating season!

Sincerely,
