Ahoy!

We are off to a snowy start for this winter. A record snow fall of 125cm at the start of the month and about another foot in the last few days. Makes for a winter wonderland up here.

The staff are hard at work prepare spring booking orders and doing whatever service work can be done before it gets to cold.

I would like to thank everyone for the prompt attention to their 2023 contracts returns. It makes our life easier for planning the upcoming season. Looks like another full house.

Snow Removal Reminder

We offer a snow removal service during the winter. Save the trip and get on the list. The typical 30' boat averages $110 plus HST.

We do monitor the boats over the winter. Any cover issues or collapses you will be notified.

Ever wonder why we ask to put a biocide in your fuel tank prior to lay-up and treat our fuel storage tanks as well.

Tips and Tricks

Maintain Boat Lines- Over time, boat lines and dock lines can stiffen up making them awkward to use. Soak them in a gallon of water with 8 ounces of fabric softener. Dry them indoors and they will be as flexible as the day you bought them.

Clean the head- One smart idea is to clean your boat head with a can of cola. Pour a can into your toilet bowl and let it sit for a while. Stains will wipe away as quickly as with a commercial cleaner.

Black soot stains. Cooking on propane can tarnish your pots and pans. Try cleaning the bottoms with ketchup. Works great.

More than one use for a toilet plunger! Tired of struggling to stay afloat while cleaning the water line. Stick the plunger to the boat bottom and save your breath.

Boat Market Remains Strong.

Having made a recent trip to Europe Ann and I took in a Boat Show. It was amazing to see a strong attendance and may new items on display. Like a carbon fibre boat hook that rolls up! Talking to various distributers and boat dealers they were all optimistic about the upcoming season. Mercury Marine is again sold out of the larger horse power engines for next season. There was a larger push of electric powered motors and battery powered accessories than we had seen before.

Definitely no signs of an impending recession!
